Go to Multiplayer LobbyThe players with the most wins across every game on the site
Rankings count every win across all 20 games, against the AI and against other players alike. Solo games such as 2048, Minesweeper and Sudoku keep separate high-score and fastest-time tables. See the full leaderboards.
Finished games appear here as they happen. Every recorded match can be replayed move by move, so you can watch how a game was won â or where it slipped away. Browse the full archive on the replays page.
More than a game site - a place to actually get better at the games you love
Every opponent uses a real game engine - minimax search, alpha-beta pruning, and per-game tuning. Easy mode teaches; AI Training mode punishes.
Create a room, share a six-letter code, and play a friend live. Public lobby matches let you take on strangers, with optional move timers.
Turn on the coach in our flagship games for real-time move analysis, then review the whole game afterwards to see exactly where it slipped away.
Every game is recorded. Track your win rate, climb per-game leaderboards, and post high scores in the solo games.
Watch any recorded game move by move - your own, or anyone's on the recent-games feed. Learning from losses beats repeating them.
The daily Word Guess gives everyone the same puzzle each day. Six guesses, one word, and a streak worth protecting.

An independent project built by people who love board games
PlayVersusAI started with a simple idea: browser games are usually either pretty but brainless, or smart but ugly. We wanted both - classic games with genuinely strong AI opponents, wrapped in an interface that's actually pleasant to use.
Today the site hosts 20 games. The strategy games run real engines: bitboard search for Connect 4, full move-generation and evaluation for Chess and Checkers, probability mapping for Battleship. Puzzle games like Sudoku generate fresh, human-solvable puzzles on demand. And 13 games support live online multiplayer, so you can bring a friend.
Every game on this site is completely free. No coins, no energy bars, no "premium" difficulty levels. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads on desktop, and that's it.
You don't even need an account to play - signing up just unlocks the extras: saved stats, leaderboard rankings, multiplayer matchmaking, and daily streaks. We collect the minimum data needed to make those features work, as covered in our privacy policy.
